Ayurveda follows the concept of addressing individual ailments through doshas/ prakruti, thorough an understanding of genetical composition through vata, pitha, and kapha, which one may inherit from the parents.
According to Ayurveda , doshas are the energy patterns that flow around our bodies, governing our thinking and behaviour. There are three primary doshas – vata , pitta and kapha – and we are all born with all three of them. But it’s the dominance of one or two of these doshas that defines who we are.
Vata is constituted by space and air, which is the energy of movement; fire and water constitute pitta, the principle of digestion and metabolism; and water and earth make up kapha, the dosha of structure and lubrication.
Ayurveda says that your original body composition mainly helps to identify any imbalances in your body and the reason for your illnesses.
Each type of doshas has a unique set of characteristics, leading to the body type/ shape of the person, also depending on their physical, psychological and emotional attributes. Ayurveda helps you to find out your body composition by using pulse diagnosis. When you know your body type, you are able to understand what works for you to have a better, healthy life.
